Four young black men stand trial in San Francisco accused of killing white residents in what police describe as an initiation rite for a black militant group. The charges stem from a wave of random street violence near the city.
An eight-member congressional fact finding group unanimously urges 75 million dollars in food assistance for Cambodia. Rep Paul McCloskey announces the stance as the Ford administration leans toward suspending March plans and increasing oil import fees.
Union City approves a phased drug eradication plan for Decoto based on concentrated patrols, a plaza task force, and targeted arrests. A two man foot patrol runs 2 pm to midnight to deter narcotics use and sale, with public involvement and family oriented park programs proposed.

He seeks 500k for reputational injury 500k for mental distress 15000 in lost wages and 20000 in legal expenses. The claim cites written and oral charges undermining his honesty and competence and alleges defamation tied to district finance probes and media coverage. Fremont citizens committee urges construction of a 9 million dollar cultural arts complex as part of the civic center. The group, chaired by former mayor Hugh Jock, tested sites including Ohlone College and Mission San Jose areas, and found central location and public access favorable despite seismic and parking concerns. Polls open 7 pm with multiple Tri-City races and a local election bureau to report returns at 0:36 pm.
Fremont chamber of commerce faces losses with 141 members dropped for nonpayment and a six month income downturn.
