BART extends bus transfer and free rides for staff children
BART directors approved continuing the free bus transfer for employees and dependents and delaying a staff move for a new entry plan. The system will extend the 25 cent transfer split with AC Transit and begin July 1 the final phase of a two year labor pact allowing children to ride free, increasing nonpaying riders amid proposed gate and passenger flow changes. A separate item noted staff proposed a special fare gate for free riders, but the board rejected it.
