Fremont rescuers honored for life saving pool incident
Mra Barbara Pifer and Loyd Pyzer, a 17 year old lifeguard, are to be honored for reviving a nearly drowned man at Hidden Valley Park on June 8. Pyzer pulled the victim from nine feet of water, performed mouth to mouth and chest compressions, and the man recovered before the ambulance arrived. Pifer, a Red Cross instructor since 1971, praised first aid as essential and trained others. awards will be presented Thursday.
