Offshore oil well fire dies out in Intracoastal City
A fire on an offshore rig atop a 15,000 foot gas well near Intracoastal City, Louisiana, was extinguished Saturday. Amoco Production Co said a relief well will be drilled to seal the well, a process potentially lasting over a month. Spokesman Joel Power noted a 45 day depth estimate if deepest reach is required. The platform had several wells, one leaking earlier and being cooled with 12,000 gallons of water per minute from four barges. other wells were capped.

London reports Prince Charles, heir to the throne, marching with Queen Elizabeth II in the Trooping the Color ceremony. Charles, Colonel of the Welsh Guards, saluted the Queen as she rode in uniform, presenting the Grenadier Guards colors. The royals traveled in open coaches from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.
