Official probe pins fire on faulty wiring at Beverly Hills club
The Beverly Hills Supper Club fire that killed 161 is blamed on defective wiring in the Zebra Room ceiling and adjacent wall area. Fire Marshal Warren Southworth said the ignition was electrical and fueled by combustibles, with a prolonged blaze before discovery. Investigators seek building plans to assess remodeling and code compliance while noting contradictions with insurer hired probes.
