Five dead in Upland plane crash near Cable Airport
A twin engine six place Avro Arm Commander crashed into an apartment complex east of Cable Airport in Upland. Five aboard died and four on the ground were injured. The craft, flying from Cable to San Diego, went down in foul weather with low ceilings and poor visibility. Ground witnesses describe erratic flight and a possible attempt to land on school grounds.
