Public allowed to inspect Santa Rita jail in Pleasanton
Santa Rita jail in Pleasanton opened for a public inspection tour Monday night the first in three years. A group of 23 citizens and media reporters walked through barracks and a Greystone maximum security area while deputies monitored all inmate contact. Executives called conditions in the 33 year old facility a community problem and urged building improvements as the tour concluded with a question and answer period.
