About 1,000 people and more than 200 uniformed officers attended the funeral Mass for Fremont Police Chief John Victor Fabbri, 46, who died of a heart attack Sunday. Melanoma was higher in the South, and occupational hazards correlated with esophagus and bladder cancers in the Northeast. Salem County New Jersey had the highest male bladder cancer rate among counties with at least 10 000 white residents. The institute will mail the report to cancer specialists nationwide.
President Ford and aides told reporters there is no expected summer gas shortage as high energy prices and regulation shifts shape outlooks. Nessen said industrial demand, not consumers, will face strain, with jobs and price controls central issues. Ford plans to urge Congress to deregulate natural gas while tapping Elk Hills reserves to boost civilian oil output.
