Hijacker describes Cuban jail in Havana stay
A UPI report recounts Bertrand Helmey's 103 days in a Cuban jail after hijacking a United Air Lines jet to Havana on January 11, 1980. He describes a windowless cell, severe diet, stench, and intermittent interrogations before his April 28 release and return to the United States.
