Youth Capsules Promise Longevity Stirring Global Trade
The piece reports on the Procaine based Gerovital H-3 youth capsules sold legally in Europe at 13 cents a box in Romania and illegally in the United States at about $1.50 per capsule. It notes Dr Ana Aslan’s clinic in Bucharest, Western European sales, and skeptical medical assessments by British and American researchers who found no proven rejuvenating effects. It discusses bootlegging, prices, and the long and controversial history of procaine as a so called fountain of youth.
