Forgotten WWI Marine found in France decades later
The skeleton of a U.S. Marine believed to be Howard A. Heist of Pennsylvania was found near Chorey in July and identified after dog tags, boots, and dental records were studied in Frankfurt. Officials traced the belated discovery to the Sixth Marines, 2nd Division, and Heist was buried at Saint Mihiel cemetery in mid January 1972.
