Murphy to seek reelection as Alameda County supervisor

Alameda County Supervisor John D. Murphy of Pleasanton announced he will seek reelection in the First District, which includes Fremont and Newark. He cited district changes, retirements, and support from civic, law enforcement, farm groups, and county employees as factors guiding his decision after discussions with his wife and family. Murphy was appointed to the board on December 6, 1960 by Gov. Edmund G. Brown.

Fremont Photographic Society Begins Free Camera Classes

The Fremont Photographic Society starts free camera technique classes for beginners. Sessions are held every Wednesday in February at 7:45 p.m. in the Mission Room, Olive Hyde Art Center, 123 Washington Blvd. Tonight covers basic adjustments, shutter, diaphragm, and focus with a schedule through February including camera handling and composition, recognizing a good picture, and improving snapshots with basic accessories.
