Nurse Ma rica Maguire bathes him as Physiotherapist Mrs. Mary Clinkett watches. Surgeon Dr Yashir Akyurekli implanted the nuclear powered device two weeks ago after his battery pacemaker faded. The new pacer should last at least six years without replacement.

Stabbing during stereo payment dispute in Fremont
A Fremont man was stabbed during a melee at an apartment complex over stereo payment. Robert Powers, 24, was stabbed and taken to Highland Hospital, Oakland. Everett Singleton, 25, of Hayward, was arrested after police questioned the victim at the hospital.

Frigidaire Division of General Motors opens a regional distribution center at Atlantic and Dove avenues Union City. The 190000 square foot warehouse serves dealers in 48 California counties 7 Oregon counties and almost all Nevada counties. It features 30 docks 80foot or 1000foot rail cars and 17 acres. Dalton says the center will use electronic data processing to speed dealer orders to customers.
