Former Nazi officer tracked down in Zurich
In Zurich police yesterday arrested fugitive Dutch billionaire art dealer Pieter Menten on an Interpol warrant. He is accused of involvement in the deaths of at least 310 Polish Jews while serving as an SS officer. Menten had registered under an assumed name at a secluded hotel and claimed to be an Irish lord before surrendering. Dutch officials seek extradition but face Switzerland’s war crimes law and diplomatic considerations.
