Fremont police officer Larry Danner sternly lectured a 12 year old boy who stole four ducks from Lake Elizabeth. The officer returned the fowl to the lake and learned from two other boys who had one duck that the thief harassed the ducks with a sling and herded them under a bridge before picking them up.

Fremont man Fd Martinez 23 of San Lorenzo was sentenced to five days in county jail for contempt of court for violating a picketing injunction at Westfab. The injunction limits pickets to eight and blocks access to the plant. The strike by Local 1518 of the IAM at Westfab has lasted two months.
