Jury raps clerk for poor Sirhan evidence handling
Los Angeles county grand jury rebuked County Clerk Willam Sharp for lax procedures in Kennedy assassination exhibits. It cited unauthorized viewing and mishandling of items including the murder weapon and clothing, risking ballistics credibility in Sirhan Sirhan’s appeal. The panel noted missing and incomplete records of who accessed evidence and when, and said the May 1991 court order restricting outsiders was learned only in June.
