UNION CITY Police booked a Hayward man on a narcotics charge after heroin was found following a July 24 car crash that struck a light pole near Fremont Boulevard and Decoto Road. The driver, Robert Valentine Romero, 25, of 22656 J. Salaiz Lane, Hayward, was held on $3,000 bail. A second man, 22, of 312 Elmwood Myrtle Ave., identified as Lane, was arrested on a warrant shortly after the accident. The hospitalized driver has since been released.
