San Quentin guard cites prior knowledge of gun for Jackson plot

San Quentin guard testified that prison officials knew a gun would be smuggled to George Jackson before the 1975 assault in which three inmates and three guards died. He recalled a 1970 letter shown by Lt. Wagner about the gun, and said all visiting room staff were informed. The defense argues authorities aided the escape plan, while prosecutors counter that security failed to prevent the unrest.
