Ghost town finally a success
Dayton Nevada, 13 miles northeast of Carson City, long struggled for recognition. Early names and failed schemes marked its stubborn bid to matter, from mistaken towns to an Army recruiting post, to attempts at a gas company and coal mining. Despite misfires, Dayton persisted, keeping spirit alive through repeated efforts and local lore.
