Computer Urged For Builders
East Bay Home Builders Association hosted a seminar at the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco to unveil a computerized cost estimating system. The two year development cost $250000, said E. T. Terry Stahl of Co Data Corporation. The system uses a large computer accessed by a time sharing console terminal linking to a computation center via telephone lines. A Bay Area demonstration is planned at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference June 28 at the Fairmont.

Morrison Homes unveiled new Pleasanton Valley designs to a large crowd with five furnished model homes. Eastern decorator Julie Sherman flew in from Washington DC to supervise furnishings featuring antique barber pole and piano, plus wall to wall mirrors. The homes offer step-down conversation rooms with wet bars, master retreat rooms, raised hearth fireplaces, wall to wall carpeting, separate dining rooms, 2-3 full baths and 3-4 bedrooms across one and two story layouts.
