WPA awaits word on Holly Avenue kindergarten project
Relaunching of the Holly Avenue School kindergarten unit hinges on WPA approval in Washington. The cancellation of a lobbyist contract linked to several Southern California districts and Glenn E. Miller prompted Col. Donald H. Connelly to suspend Miller’s mandate. Clifton said the district acted in good faith, forwarding details to WPA head Harry Hopkins. The project shows 15 percent work done and 17 percent funds spent, with an estimated total of 60014 dollars and a federal share of 36128 dollars.
