David and Margaretha (Peter*) Gloeekler were married on March 24, 1905, in his parents’ home near Rnsthem, Saskatchewan, Canada. Their first home was a little shanty built on their homestead at Great Deer, Saskatchewan. Four years later a two-story frame house was built. The Gloecklers actively participated in the development of the Borden Mennonite Brethren Church.They moved, with their sia little girls, to the Maple area in December, 1921, one of the main reasons for their move being to make better educational facilities available tothe family. A seventh daughterwas bom in California.All of the daughters are graduates of Wasco Union High School. Alma taught in Maple, Richland, Longfellow, and East High School;Myrtle taught in Shafter HighSchool; and Teena also taught at East High, continuing in the music, German, and English Departmentsafter A Una left.Four different California universities are the AJma Maters of the seven daughters; Alma and Manith graduated from the University of Southern California; Myrtle and Melba from the University ef California at Los Angeles: Daisy from San Jose College;Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Muse! andtwo granddaughters of Los Angeles and Mr. and Mrs. Merino Bergen of Campbell.Mrs. Gloeckler’s family wasfanning and moved to here they attend thetrethren Church.
