Gobblers Knob Open Day drew Adair Anita crowds in 1927
The Anita Tribune notes the Gobblers Knob Club open day near Adair on August 24 featured free public entertainment including swimming contests horse shoe pitching baseball games and a band concert. The site on the A J Menefee farm offered a gravel bottom pool a spring fed water supply a baseball diamond and a planned golf course with yearly memberships for families.

Immunization Law Survey Report At Local Elementary
The elementary school reports 231 of 236 students responded to a survey on the new immunization law for K-12 enrollment. Hole in One Mrs. Merk Hurt In Two Car Crash
Mrs. Merk received bruises and was shaken after a two car collision Monday evening near Anita. Westbound Merk turning into a driveway collided with an eastbound car driven by Robert Simmons. Both vehicles destroyed. Mrs. Merk remained hospitalized at Cass County Memorial Hospital. Simmons boy released after treatment.
