Frank Miller and wife expect to leave Anita next Monday for Doniphan Missouri where they will spend the winter months. At a Friday Anita P T A meeting in the school assembly room W T Biggs was elected president.
Mrs. Alpha Nelson spent the weekend in Iowa City with her son James Nelson a State University student. Miss Evaline Baier has gone to Omaha to take a position in an apartment house. G A Johnson and Mrs Frankie Morrical visited the Johnson home in Dexter. A H football beat Lewis 18 to 6 on the local field. Merritt Dill at the Big E market injured his left middle finger in a meat grinder cutting off the fingertip.
The 76th annual meeting of the Council Bluffs Congregational churches will be Oct 1–2 in Farragut with Rev. B L Anderson speaking on Missionary Education. Anita church delegates include Mrs Claudia Brown Frank Osen and Val Wiegand. Billie King, 8, was cut below the left eye after a cow strike early Monday. Evergreen Cemetery driveways began pouring concrete Monday. Leonard Johnson, 7, had his tonsils removed at Campbell Hospital last week. Leslie L Dorsey, 23, and Mary Kearns, 22, were issued a marriage license recently. Carroll Raymond Burke, a Des Moines Catholic College student, visited his parents for a weekend. Dr G M Adair remains confined at home with abscesses.
The East half district group of the Order of Enasters Stars of Iowa met at the Masonis Temple in Anita on Thursday afternoon. Members noted the member’s health decline with Gong confined to bed this week after being able to move about last week.
W H Wagner Jr returns from Grand Forks North Dakota. Joe Ryd 80 acre farm southwest of the city rented to Everett Palmer for next year. Ross Kohl injures head in baseball incident from week ago Monday. Fred Sheley and wife and Mrs Ed Carlton visit Montezuma. Mrs Dennis Pearce visits Indianapolis relatives. Mrs Elmer Scholl home from Atlantic hospital. Harry C Faulkner travels to Kansas for Leon G Vorhees farm land. Mrs William Finn and daughter Carol and Mrs William Holtz visit Anita to spend several weeks with parents. Work on Anita east area proceeds rapidly. William Kirkham north project ahead of schedule.
