Fontanelle residents Mr. Albion Means Mrs. Means Mrs. Lilly Prewitt and Mrs. Elsie Fullerton were injured with painful cuts and bruises. Mrs. Prewitt and Mrs. Fullerton were hospitalized briefly after a broadside crash when a car from a side road failed to stop. Madeline Nelson and Max Cline of Guthrie Center were only slightly hurt.

Don ald Caltrider of Grant township Jim Anderson six miles south of Guthrie Center and Beryl Shroyer of Adair received awards for outstanding soil conservation efforts. Caltrider owns 240 acres with 9500 feet of terraces 11000 feet of tile drainage and 40 acres seeded. Anderson operates 4320 acres with 3600 feet of terraces since 1951 60 acres of strip cropping 4 acres of trees and 7 acres reseeded.
