Ed L Newton family suspects kidnap plot rumors
Twenty years ago on September 8 1932 an apparent night visit by four strangers to the Ed L Newton family sparked fear of a possible gang intent on forcing Mr Newton to open the post office safe. The Kunz Grain Co elevator caught fire with minor damage as the Anita Junior band performed publicly and enrollment stood at 302.
