Reports say a young man with long hair and scant clothing was spotted wandering north of Anita near Highland, provoking townwide excitement. A search party and residents combed fields and weeds, but the missing person remains unfound as of Sunday with no clear path to capture him.
Leslie Harrison and family returned from Maine. Chicago relatives stayed with A Thompson family. Helen Dinsmore visited Yvonne Robinson in Casey. Susie Bachmann of Des Moines stayed with sister Mrs. A H Ziegler. Jas O Jenkins and son Phil visited from Extra. G M Wilson called to Atlantic for sister N J Semerroth’s illness. Bangham and Jenkins families camped at the state fair. Guy McDermott returns to Ames State College. F O Worthing named to federal jury in Council Bluffs. A B Gilbaugh travels to South Dakota to view lands. C W Hook of Cedar Rapids with Farmers Insurance Co. in city. Public sales expected to rise this fall and winter. S B Frum dies in Shelby. Masonic Temple joke noted. Lew and Billy Bangham back from South Dakota land trip. Lulu Knight to join Gertrude Meinhardt millinery shop. Tent show recap praises band. J P Jones attended soldiers’ reunions across the state. R C Rasmussen and children leave for Aberdeen after visit in Anita.

The Ladies' Aid Society of the M E church will hold a twenty cent supper in the church dining room on Friday September 10 1909. Supper will be ready to serve at 5 PM. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
The Tribune notes receipt of The Temperance Cause, a monthly periodical edited by Rev Alfred Noon in Boston. Rev M Stahl, formerly of Anita M E Church, was in town last Thursday. he now serves in Altoona and is busy with church building projects.

At a social gathering in Atlantic hosted by Senator and Mrs. Jas E Bruce the engagement of their eldest daughter Miss Anita B Bruce to Mr Eugene Frank Consigney of Avoca was announced. The wedding is planned for the holiday season. Anita Bruce was born in Anita and is described as accomplished. Consigney is son of the late Major Consigney a longtime Avoca businessman and is president of Avoca Centennial Mills and a major bank investor.
In very poor health editor notes former Anita citizen and business man C L Miles now at his Pipestone Minnesota home suffering from inflammatory rheumatism and other old age ailments. Miles was a National Fire Insurance Co general agent based in Pipestone with a past as a popular restaurant proprietor once located on the site of the Donohoe barber shop.
Friday last the O D Aldrich family were royally entertained at an elegant dinner at Mrs. W K Kelloway’s home. The Tripune editor joined the guests, enjoying the season’s delicacies prepared by the young hostess. Attendees included W E Kelloway, O D Aldrich, Jennie Hemphill, Lulu Bullock, Ralph Forshay, Addie Aldrich, C H Sparling, Sherm F Myers, and the Aldrich children’s children. It ends with a shoe shop promotion by Nabe’s Atlantic.
