Des Moines Forming Organization For Christmas Seal Sale

Des Moines reports the Iowa Tuberculosis Association received thirty two million penny Christmas seals to be distributed across all counties for the twenty second annual campaign opening November 29. Committees are appointed locally to promote seal sales aiding child health, clinics, dental inspection, school health supplies, and tuberculosis prevention statewide. The effort has reduced tuberculosis deaths, infant mortality, and overall deaths over 22 years. The seal features a bell ringer in medieval costume with Health Greetings 1929 and the Lorraine cross.
