Bloodmobile to Visit Anita for 100 Donors Friday
Red Cross bloodmobile comes to Anita Methodist Church Friday September 4 from 12:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The goal is 100 donors to meet a 50 pint quota. Local chairman Mrs Hazel King and volunteers urge all types to donate to help supply blood for the community and nearby areas. Carol Kay Crozier, a four year old needing blood for heart surgery, is highlighted to encourage participation. Labor Day events note schools closed and classes resume Tuesday.

Lewis Joseph Swartz, a 20 year old Los Angeles man, pleaded guilty in Anita JP court to presenting a fraudulent check and was fined or jailed. Mr and Mrs Fred Brownsberger are the parents of a son born Sunday at 1 am weighing 6 lbs 12 ozs. He is named Steven Fredric and joins sisters Teresa Danette and Ann Maurine. Paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs Ed Brownsberger Sr. and maternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Bud Clark. The father, a local street commissioner, delivered the baby at Wirta then moved mother and child to Atlantic Memorial Hospital where father and mother are both reported doing nicely.
