American Legion Auxiliary Linfor holds regular August meeting
The American Legion Auxiliary met Friday at Legon Hall with President Mrs. Harvey Scholl presiding. Minutes and treasurer reports were read and approved. Delegates were chosen to attend the council Bluffs convention on Sept 14 with Mrs. Harvey Scholl, Mrs. Melimann, Mrs. Ed Anderson, and others listed as delegates and alternates. A social hour followed as guests from nearby towns attended.

Mrs. H. F. Hartje of Adair Dies at 47
Mrs. H F Hartje a prominent Adair civic worker and wife of a local doctor died in Omaha St Joseph's hospital after nearly a year of illness. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 7 afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Adair with Rev J M Bhloomauist officiating. Burial will be in Adair. She served as Adair county vice chair of the Republican party and was active in Seventh District GOP circles. The Hartjes were well known in Anita and surrounding communities.
