Mary Elizabeth McCosh born in Washington County Pennsylvania in 1852 died August 17 1909 at her home near Ledyard Iowa aged 57 years 6 months 12 days She moved with her parents to Brooklyin in 1867 later living near Cumberland Cass County and Kossuth County She leaves Henry J Mayer husband seven children two sons and five daughters and siblings Funeral held at Anita Congregational Church then laid to rest in Massena Cemetery beside two children

Reunion of Cass and Montgomery County Veterans Aired in Griswold

The 17th annual Cass and Montgomery counties Veterans Association reunion concluded Thursday with a camp-fire program in Griswold Iowa. Attendees from near and far enjoyed a three day program with band, martial and vocal music and a large audience. Griswold residents and local business people received praise for hosting. The association voted 59 to 20 to hold the 1910 reunion in Griswold.

Labor Day Postal Schedule Announced

The Anita post office will open Monday September 6 from 8 to 9 A M. Mail carriers on Rural routes 1 2 and 3 will not run their regular trips. No money order business will be transacted. Mail placed in outside box will be dispatched by regular trains. Postmaster F Myers signs the notice.
