Boedeker Wounded in Korea Grabs Telegraphic Update
Sgt. Robert Boedeker of Anita was reported seriously wounded in Korea on Oct 29 after grenade fire to face and neck. Parents received the Defense Department telegram but his treatment location was not disclosed. He served in Germany four years and has been in Korea about a month.

Eisenhower Wins Big in Anita Grant 1 Contest
In Anita Grant 1, 642 votes were cast with Eisenhower 601 to Stevenson 129. Across Cass County Eisenhower led 7,955 to 2,349. Four new county officials will take office Jan 1, including Kenneth Jones sheriff and Lester Kluever county attorney. Several incumbents reelected. Presidential votes by locality show Eisenhower leads in Grant 1 and Grant 2, Lincoln, Franklin, and Benton precincts with varying margins. Constitutional Amendment No 1 passed 567 to 51 and No 2 320 to 48.

Critical condition follows surgery on ulcers
Howard Dove of Anita remains critically ill after ulcers surgery at Des Moines General Hospital. He was on the operating table two and a half hours and later in an oxygen tent. His wife Mrs. Dove said yesterday that his condition had improved and that he would probably return home this evening.

Anita school will be closed Friday afternoon to allow teachers to attend the ISCA convention in Des Moines. Buses depart at 11 30, students go home for dinner, and no lunch will be served that day.
Des Moines Man Posts Bond On Traffic Charge
LuDell Hagen formerly of Anita and now in Des Moines posted 100 bond in Atlantic justice court on a traffic charge. His hearing was continued to Nov 17. Dale Dressler of Anita claimed Hagen driving a semi-trailer passed another semi and shoved Dressler’s car onto the highway shoulder west of Anita near the Eblen place on Highway 6. No injuries to Dressler or occupants.
