Poppy Sale Nets 38 Dollars For Anita Legion Auxiliary

Ten years ago the Anita Legion Auxiliary raised 38.70 from poppy sales last Saturday. They had 1000 poppies and any unsold stock will be offered again on Decoration Day. Local notes mention fishing trips at Leach Lake Minnesota and a quilting day with community events and council proceedings.

Reported Sunday the shortage of fuel hinders meal preparation as authorities struggle to supply enough energy for cooking. two pounds of wool are cited as sufficient to cook one meal costing five guilders about two dollars.

In a special joint session with the Anita Municipal Light and Water Board the council and board considered refunding the Anita Municipal Electric Revenue Bonds.
