Bicentennial activities and honors announced in city
The town plans a Bicentennial flag raising on April 29 at 1 30 p m in the city park with a brief program and afterwards coffee at the Legion Hall. Myrtle Bowen is remembered after her 82 years. Larry Vais named Iowa American Legion Boy Scout of the Year and entered in National Boy Scout of the Year recognition. A near tragedy was averted when youths acted quickly on April 14.
