Rites Held for Mary Reed 103 Former Anita Resident
Funeral services were held at Long Funeral Home for Mary Elizabeth Galther Reed 103 a longtime Anita resident. She died Friday May 2 at Walter Nursing Home Panora after residing there ten years. Interment followed in Anita Evergreen Cemetery. She was born April 16 1866 in Jefferson County Pennsylvania and earlier lived in Mt Pleasant before moving to Anita area farms and towns. She was active in the Anita American Legion Auxiliary Rebekah Lodge and the Methodist church. She is survived by three sons James A Reed Malvern Ark William H Reed Omaha and Lawrence L Reed Guthrie Center along with six grandchildren ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
