Harlan hearing continued over railroad receiver removal

Two Garnishment Cases Filed In Atlantic

In Atlantic Iowa on May 12 Rudolph J Hal C Conrad filed suit against the Conrad Shoe Company Parker Shoe Company and R H Parker for 21080 88 plus eight percent interest from May 7 this year. The Lloyd Adams company also filed against Parker Shoe for 3796 20. Both requests include attachments and partial parishment against O G Condes holding Parker stock.

Change in Cumberland Bank in Cumberland

W Reed vice president and PB of Cumberland Shearer Savings Bank has purchased the stock of EO S Harlan in the bank. The deal closed Friday evening. Harlan, Atlantic resident, has been bank president since its founding about seven years ago. Reed to be president with Shearer as vice president and B Jones to be promoted. The Cumberland Savings Bank remains a strong financial institution in the county.

Memorial Day Observance at Masonic Temple and Opera House

A Mead post calls comrades to the Masonic Temple on Memorial Day morning for prayers and a reading of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. The Anita Concert Band will play with a Ladies Quartette, and Miss Helen Dinsmore will give the day’s address. New North Road to Open Along County Highway Plan

Guthrie Center board to open a new road between Adair and Casey, with a commissioner and three appraisers to determine land value. Casey and Adair merchants backed the plan at a Saturday meeting, naming committees to work with supervisors.
