Sunday Visit Among Local Families in Wiota

B O J Wilson and family spent Sunday in Wiota visiting relatives. Jatt Kelloway and Teddy Arnold of Adair came to see friends. Daniel Ferguson, old Anita boy, visited from Atlantic with childhood companions. Ev tas joined by Charles Wor thing and other Atlantic men. Blanche Cooper has been sick. W C Trego and wife left for Bancroft to visit relatives. Fred Tismer from near Hot Springs SD visited his sister Mrs August Simon. Henry Simon accompanied him to Atlantic on return.

Atlantic Manufacturing seeks new trial in Toepfer Jee v. Atlantic

Through attorney Baldridge of Omaha the Atlantic Manufacturing Company files for a new trial before Judge Rockafellow in the case of Wm. Toepfer Jee versus the Atlantic Manufacturing Company. The jury awarded the plaintiff 455 dollars. the original claim was 1600 dollars. The judge has taken the motion under advisement. The will of John Johannes, deceased, is set for probate hearing on May 16.

Stevens Will Is Filed for Probate in Anita

An instrument purporting to be the last will and testament of George H. Stevens has been filed for probate. It leaves the entire estate after debts to brothers Jacob B. Stevens and Dan Stevens with alternates to sister Anna J. Geery. Hearing set for May 16. Anita ordinances fix ten mph speed limit and require lights after sunset. Mayor Ged. Scholl states enforcement and prosecution.

Evergreen Cemetery Ledger Shows 1914-Receipts and Balances

The Evergreen Cemetery Association treasurer reports year ending May 1 1914 with numerous receipts from individuals for plots perpetual care and lumber purchases. The ledger lists dates and names such as B Daughenbaugh Oliver Pierce Mrs Geo Johnson D R Donohoe and Emma Flesher among others totaling 1409.87 for 1911 1912 1913 and 1914 plus balance carried forward and reflecting perpetual care income and outstanding accounts.
