Bronze Star Awarded Danny Lohoff for Vietnam Service
S/S Danny Lohoff received the Bronze Star and the President's citation for meritorious service in ground operations against hostile forces in Vietnam during 1948 to 1969. His efforts aided the U.S. Mission in Vietnam. Lohoff is now discharged and living in Anita with wife Linda and daughter, working on Griswold New Fence. Park improvements include a new picket fence around the flower bed at Concert Park built by Ralph Croma and beds tended by Anita Home and Garden Club volunteers. The garden beds are blooming and a martin house at the park has been taken over by several martins.

Meg and Mrs Don Stademiller welcome a baby girl born Monday after noon May 4 at Cass County Memorial Hospital weighing 6 pounds 14 1/2 ounces named Sheila Anne. Paternal grandparents Lawrence Stademiller of Postville and Mrs Atrs Mc. and Mrs Kremer of Prairieburg are maternal grandparents. Senta, the baby’s sister, has been visiting and will return home this weekend.

Lady golfers set Tuesday tee offs in Crestwood Hills

Rubella Clinic Tour Planned Across Cass Co Next Friday
Rubella clinics will be held Friday May 15 at Anita Community Elementary from 8 45 to 9 15 am and at Cumberland Elementary from 9 30 to 10 am for the Cumberland Massena School system. Dr R Coatney will attend both sites. Parents urged to immunize children ages to 12 and bring 50 cents to offset costs. Rites Held for C O Petersen 83
Funeral services were held May 11 for C O Petersen aged 83 at Long Funeral Home. Born May 15 1887 in Denmark he died at Cass County Memorial Hospital after months of ill health. Survived by two sons and a daughter, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, with a sister in Denmark. Wife Lena Christensen predeceased him. later marriage to Elsie Pratt Kopp also predeceased him.

Measuring for Parallel Parking on Anita Main Streets
Work started to measure for parallel parking across three blocks of Anita Main Street.
