Dale King Seeks Cass County Auditor Republican Nomination
Dale King son of Mr and Mrs Lester King southwest of Anita seeks the Republican nomination for Cass county Auditor. He has served as deputy auditor and worked at Henningsen Motors in Atlantic. The current auditor F W Herbert is not a candidate. King is a graduate of Wiota High School and Chicago Technical College in drafting. Also noted is the death of Zoe Carter formerly of Anita with services pending.

George Lund Buys Lafe Koob Farm
Lafe Koob sold his 71 acre farm 444 miles northwest of Anita to George Lund. The Koob farm has been in the family for 100 years, with Antone Koob having purchased it initially. Lafe owned since 1911 and paid 225 dollars per acre. The new highway took 9 acres. Leo Kelly to farm the land this year. neighboring families and a local move noted. Reverend Dixon, former pastor of the First Congregational Church, died April 8 in Phillips Wisconsin.

A county wide 4-H girls chorus directed by Mrs. Dale Feazell of Massena forms with 30 high school age participants ready for their first public appearance on Rally Day May 21. The effort promotes the 4 H club music program and cross county connections. A separate town water project is advancing with Well Anita No 3, a state water permit hearing notice, bidding soon, and a projected July operation at an estimated total cost of about 15000 dollars.

Car Fire Destroys 1956 Chevrolet Convertible Near Anita
Sunday night fire reported at 8 30 by Carmel LaBlanch and Emmet Tames destroyed a 1956 Chevrolet in a car owned by two Offutt Air Force personnel located about a mile and a half west of Anita. Officers said brakes likely caused the blaze. the two men escaped injury.

Spring Rally of Rocket Zone West Held at Holy Cross
The 1960 Spring Rally of Rocket Zone West Walther League gathered 150 members at Holy Cross Lutheran Church Anita on Sunday. Rev R A Nelson led devotions, Larry Waldau presided, and a summer athletic program with a special board was approved while zone officers were elected. St Johns Casey won the volleyball title, Wiota First Lutheran received the banner, Rev V Mack Goeghein spoke, and the rally closed with a movie and devotions. Next rally is at St Johns Casey this fall.
