Lutheran Mission to Hold Get Acquainted Service Sunday
Anita Lutheran Mission will hold a special Get Acquainted service Sunday afternoon at 2 40 in the Anita high school forum. Rev A O Ke of St Pauls in Carroll will give the afternoon address. Zion Lutheran and St Johns choir will provide music as the service moves from afternoon to evening hour. The mission, started by Rev Theo Hoemann about NM months ago, has grown rapidly and will be meeting in the C F hall to acquaint attendees with the Keran Mission.

Huckelberry Finn Opens Friday For 3 Day Run
The Rialto Theatre presents Mickey Rooney in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for three days Friday through Sunday. Ma We Schwenke of Massena and Leslie Denney of Anita wed Tuesday morning at Atlantic in a ceremony conducted by Justice of the Peace P. I. Appleman. Attendants include the brides mother Mrs Otto E Karas and the grooms mother Mrs Joe Denney. After a short honeymoon in Minnesota the couple will settle in Anita where the groom farms. Final Rites Held in Anita For Mrs Meta Warncke
Mrs Meta Warncke of Wiota died April 25 at home after several weeks illness. Born in Germany July 17 1861, she came to the U S at 23, married Henry Warncke in Fontanelle 1884, lived in Adair county then Atantic, later Wiota. Survived by husband. Funeral 2 PM Thursday at Long funeral home Anita. buried Evergreen Cemetery.

Corning Collects Damages From Utility Company
County Clerk Tunis Van Pelt received a $10,241.10 check from Lincoln office of Town-Nebraska Light & Power Company for damages in the Corning case against Iowa-Nebraska Light & Power. The $470.41 costs are paid, leaving $9,760.69 to be transmitted to Corning’s treasurer, after court costs. The long 1936 dispute ended with the high court awarding damages, but net proceeds depend on fees and expenses. City attorney fees and engineering costs may reach about $2,000. claimed by C. M.
