Visitation Day At Anita Public School For Rural Eighth Graders

Anita Public School hosted rural eighth graders on visitation day to learn the high school path. Longs Entertain 900 At Open House For Store Addition

Longs Home Furnishings hosted an open house to celebrate a new store addition drawing about 900 attendees. Martha Dorsey won the first prize Stratolounger chair, with other prizes including a Sealy mattress, Hallite aluminum set, and a plate glass mirror awarded to several guests. About one hundred Anita Chamber members guests and wives attended the quarterly meeting at the high school gym to hear R P Halleck from the Iowa Development Commission discuss attracting and holding industry. He urged local action education and town surveys to shape growth and warned against overdependence on one economic sector. The meeting opened with a supper and entertainment before members discussed Gould Civers publicity and free services arriving in late June.
