Grant township held a town hall in Anita last Friday evening and nominated a full slate for the June primary. A Wilson was nominated for three years. Chris Birk for the year term. A meeting at Levi barber shop last Friday organized the Anita Kittenball Association. Solon A. Karns was elected president with A. Robison as vice president and Harry Swartz as secretary treasurer. Four teams were set with captains Chas Young C. W. Clardy R. W. Smith and Robert Scott. Over fifty members joined. a Friday meeting will assign players. A rules committee and a lighting purchasing group were formed. Membership costs 1.00, with weekly games planned Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Gail Burke a high school student from Anita is named special guest of Iowa State College for Veishea May 10 to 12. Selected as an outstanding student by the college and Weishea committee, she will join visitors for sports exhibits carnivals and plays. University teams will clash with Nebraska and Missouri in tennis track polo golf and football events. The Student Prince production May 11 and 12 and campus exhibits advanced research and social events round out the program for visiting high school students from across the state.

Basement Fire Damages Wilson Cafe Basement in Anita
A basement fire at Wilson's Cafe in Anita was discovered about 4:00 P.M. Monday by Raymond Barber of Johnson Plumbing Shop. Firefighters confined the blaze to the basement, preventing major damage to the building. Rexall One Cent Sale advertised for the week.

W F Budd and wife attended a national recovery code authority meeting in Red Oak under Ralph E Overholser. Iowa is divided into fifteen districts with Cass County in district 12. The fourth annual Lincoln township track meet was staged at Lincoln Center school. Dale Pace of Massena directed events with divisions 1, 2 and 1a.
