Farmers Notified Of Permitted Soil Bank Acreage
Cass county farmers with soil bank conservation contracts were mailed notices detailing their permitted acreage for base crops and how to comply. Exceeding limits can forfeit rental payments and incur civil penalties, while zero permitted acreage applies when all cropland is in the soil bank. Home gardens may not grow soil bank base crops.

Anita March of Dimes Drive Ends With $368 Collected

Army PFC Charles D. McAfee of Anita Route 1 joins 101st Airborne Division troops in Exercise Puerto Pine, an 18 day large scale airlift drill in Puerto Rico ending March 31. Crippled Children Clinic Set Tuesday in Red Oak
The State Services for Crippled Children will host a diagnostic clinic at First Methodist Church Hammond and Sixth in Red Oak on Tuesday April 5. Eligible counties include Pottawattamie Cass Mills Montgomery Adams Fremont Page and Taylor. Last year about 3660 patients under 21 attended these one day clinics with no fee for services.
