Ed L. Newton announces his candidacy for State Representative from Cass County on the Republican ticket. He states the decision rests with Republican voters at the primary on June 5.
The Tribune congratulates Anita on Monday’s town election choosing Tomer Kirkham as mayor and electing new councilmen. It urges support for a progressive two year administration and expresses confidence in capable, conservative leadership from the new officials.

Cass county supporters say he is highly qualified and likely to secure the nomination without opposition.

Pert Butler and family traveled via Anita en route to Berea to visit relatives including A Broadfoot. Ernest Burke and E M Granish shipped two carloads of cattle to South Omaha Tuesday evening. WH Faulkner of Des Moines assisted in settling losses on the Allen residence. EH M Smith and William Wiese were in Harlan Tuesday as witnesses for the McElfresh will case now in trial.
