Fires Wreck Masonic Temple and Atlantic Courthouse
Thirty years ago on Sunday morning a fire damaged the Masonic Temple, with Robert Stuhr spotting the blaze during his Sunday paper route. The blaze caused about 1000 dollars in damage to the temple and up to 3000 dollars to merchandise on the ground floor. The Atlantic courthouse burned Tuesday morning. M. E. Britton found the fire as he headed to work, and county officers with help from banks saved records and offices.
