Anita Independent School District voters go to the polls next Monday March 8 from noon to 7 pm to fill two board seats. Loans up to 400 dollars may be for growing crops or buying livestock feed, limited to the farmer’s actual cash needs. Sectional basketball tourney comes to town this week
Community hosts a boys state sectional basketball tournament at the high school gym with ten teams competing over three night sessions Thursday through Saturday. Games start at 7:00 pm, featuring Anita vs Extra, Atlantic vs Casey, Massena vs Viola Township, followed by more matchups. Officials include Supt. Clampitt, Supt. Miss Janis Scholl won first in oratory for Enough of This, Dorothy McIntyre took first in drama with Passing on the Other Side, Lawrence Hofmeister earned a humorous first with Brothers Take a Bow, and Louise Morrow placed second in The Valient.
