Mrs. Mary Walker Dies Suddenly at Home in Anita
Mrs. Mary Agnes Walker age 78 died Thursday evening at 6 10 at the Anita home of her daughter and son in law Mrs Phil McLaughlin after a year there. Funeral services were held Sunday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Adair with Rev E C Zimmermann and organist and pallbearers listed. Interment in St John’s Cemetery northwest of Adair. She was born March 27 1882 in Grant township Guthrie county daughter of John and Christina Graner married J Adam Walker March 19 1902 lived on a farm north of Adair until 1951 moved to Adair. Surviving are three sons Roy Elmer Clair Walker of Adair two daughters Mrs Fred Jergens Bridgewater and Mrs Phil McLaughlin Anita 12 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren and a brother George Grauer Oxford Co.

Ed Blakesley former banker dies at 83
Ed Blakesley 83 a former banker at Anita and Wiota died Sunday at his Wartford home after a year long illness from a stroke. He was born in Anita and served as vice president of Anita Citizens Savings bank before buying the Wiota Savings bank. He later worked as a delinquent tax accountant traveling the state. Survived by wife three sons a daughter two sisters a brother ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral held Wednesday at Anita Congregational church with interment in Evergreen cemetery.
