Public Works Program Aims to Build Nationwide Projects
The National Industrial Recovery Bill authorizes 3.3 billion dollars for a broad public works program. Up to 30 percent of project costs may be given by the President as a direct grant, with the remaining 70 percent financed by loans. States and municipalities are urged to plan urgently for water, sewage, and sanitary improvements, with Surgeon General Cumming endorsing large-scale public works to relieve unemployment and improve public health.

Queer Superstitions Persist in Disease Cures
