Local Odd Fellows Rep Elected and Town Markets Advertised
Sixty years ago on June 17 1887 Valentine Wiegand was elected representative to the Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows Worthing Brothers in the Masonic Temple offered seven pounds of coffee for a dollar and quart Mason jars at 45 cents a dozen. Tidrick sold twenty pounds of granulated sugar and a dozen quart fruit jars for 49 cents. Sherman F Myers and Ed L Richardson edited and published the Anita Tribune.

Samuel J Budd Dies at Atlantic After Long Life
Thirty years ago in Atlantic Samuel J Budd, born November 22 1870 near Bellevue Iowa, son of H W Budd and Rachel Lewis Budd, came to Cass County in 1874 and grew up in Lincoln Township. He ran a restaurant in Anita before moving to Atlantic about twenty years prior to his death. He married Nellie Beers in Anita and had daughter Eva Ludi. He survived by wife, daughter, his father in Anita and siblings Anna Bell Mel Emma Hockenberry Charles Bud of Grinnell John Budd of Dexter and Walter Budd of Anita.
