Death by Lightning Strikes Local Teen Plowing
Fifteen year old Chages Franz son of Theodore Franz was instantly killed by lightning while plowing corn on his father's farm near the city. The bolt struck his head and traveled down his body to a torn plow beam. His older brother died by lightning in a nearby hay field less than a year earlier. Funeral services were held at Adair on Sunday.
